Photos
I love taking pictures. Sometimes I take them with an okay camera and sometimes I just take them with my phone! Either way, I love to capture the things I see throughout my day.
This is a picture of the back of my grandparent’s house in the winter (duh!) in Winnetka, Illinois. I lived there for 3 years to help take care of my grandmother and I took a photography class and a dark room class during that time. I LOVED taking pictures of their house because I found it to be a fun challenge to try to capture the age of the house and balancing that with what it meant to me, how I saw it to be. It was a magical place for me. I would spend my summers there and it was quite the respite from my stressful and depressing homelife in Scottsdale, Arizona.
This picture is a little blurry because I didn’t use a tripod and it was really dark but I still like it anyway. My favorite time of the day is when the sun has gone down and all the stress and the worries of the day are behind me. I love to see the sky “glow” and I love love love the outline of tree branches against the glowing sky. When I lived in Chicago for 3 years I took a LOT of pictures like this. On this night, I was heading into a winery in Northern California with my closest friends and I looked up and saw this and so I just had to snap it.
This picture was taken on my iPhone at sunset on some beach near Pensacola, Florida when I was there visiting my dad in the hospital after his stroke.
