Dapo Torimiro is one of the subjects in my documentary, I HAVE DREAMS DAMMIT!, a film about the realities of the pursuit of dreams. He just experienced a dream milestone marker this week and I was happy to be there to share it with him!
Dream Hoarders

The show HOARDERS (on A&E) has gotten me thinking… I wonder if we
Hoard our dreams…like, collect so many that we end up getting
overwhelmed.
Imagine yourself sitting in a house filled with boxes of dreams,
covering the furniture, up to the ceiling. How do you feel?
Can you see yourself weaving in and out of the boxes getting ready for
work? Occasionally knocking one down. Dreams spill out.
People come over and tell you to “just get rid of” all the boxes…
but you cling to them, believing “one day” it’ll all mean something.
But as the days go by, you are starting to question if it ever will
make sense as the # of boxes increase every day.
Yet you are overwhelmed and tired and sick of living in the cracks of
the boxes of unfulfilled dreams.
You will either die in your dream warehouse or you will go crazy and
start breaking open all of the boxes and LIVE!
Yep, I’m leaving my job at Paramount so I can finish my documentary and pursue my dreams. I LOVED my time there, love the people I met there, and I learned sooooo much about the “real world” of the film industry and I’m happy to say that I’m STILL going to go for it!! haha
Last night I witnessed a first: a baby being born LIVE on BlogTV! Happy Birthday Lulu!!
Facing our fears actually makes us MORE independent because we are no longer dependent on other things to make us happy. I have recently started facing my fears of meeting my YouTube/online friends and I’m glad I have!

I am so excited. Dapo Torimiro, the Songwriter/Producer who is a subject in my documentary, sent out a press release this morning and all of a sudden it just got real for me. I have never doubted Dapo’s abilities, not for one moment. But there is something magical and amazing when someone’s dream begins to come true. It’s a feeling. A profound feeling of “YESSSSSS!!!!!”
I remember when I met Dapo and all of the years that I’ve known him and all of the countless hours of conversations about my dreams, his dreams and dreams in general… both on camera and off, and in this moment, I am so proud of him. I know how much he’s been through and sacrificed to get to this point and he deserves every drop of success that comes his way. Dropping out of medical school in Nigeria to become a music producer in America, he followed his dream on a whim. He could only hope it would happen and then put in hours and hours of hard work and sweat to ensure he was at the very least given a chance. And now look at you Dapo! You did it! Dreams are amazing aren’t they? But more amazing than the dream is the DREAMER. To all you out there reading this with a dream burning inside of you… read about Dapo’s success and know that your success is just around the next corner too! Keep going and don’t give up.
