Who can do this?
ANYONE can do this!! Anyone with a Twitter account can Tweet the hash tag and help us trend #JMacUp!

What is “trending” on Twitter?
“Trending” is when enough people all over the world (or in a specific area) all tweet about the same thing at the same time. You see the “trending topics” on Twitter’s home page. Sometimes you’ll see just a word like “Oscars” but sometimes you’ll see something with a “#” (hashtag) like #thingsthatbotherme. We have picked #JMacUp as our word that we are trying to get to become a trending topic on Twitter!

When is this happening?
We are asking everyone to tweet about Jesse McCartney and his new song “Up” on the Step Up 3D soundtrack INCLUDING the hash tag #JMacUp in every tweet on Friday, August 6th at 12pm (Los Angeles time) for as long as it takes to “trend”.

Why is being a trending topic on Twitter important?
It’s important because a lot of people go onto Twitter and check what topics are trending and they then click on the word (or words) and are able to view a list of everyone tweeting about that topic. It’s an EXCELLENT way to get the word out about JMac’s new song “Up” (on the Step Up 3D soundtrack) and to also let them know that JMac is BACK and that his new single and album are coming soon!!

What will happen if/when #JMacUp becomes a trending topic?
A core group of JMac fans will be VERY VERY HAPPY (lol) and the rest of the JMac Fans will also be very excited because everyone came together and made something epic happen for Jesse! That’s it! It’s all for fun and it will be AWESOME!!
