title pic The view from the top (of the bus)

Today I was feeling very frazzled and running around from one meeting to another at work and I had a “moment” that I want to share with you.  While waiting at the light to leave the lot for yet another screening (I know, I have a horrible job – LOL) a tour bus filled with (you guessed it) tourists were in a double-decker tour bus pulling up in front of the same entrance I was exiting.  All of the tourists were on the top portion of an open-top bus.  The driver slowed down – almost to a complete stop – in front of the the impressive Hollywood studio entrance.  The tourists all stood up and were taking pictures.  They all has this look of genuine excitement on their faces.  (So unlike the faces on the INSIDE of that gate!)   It actually caused me to stop all my thoughts that were just racing through my mind and for that moment, to see the where I had just come from through their eyes.  I adjusted my rear view mirror so I could also see the impressive entrance myself.  “Yes, it IS a beautiful and exciting place, isn’t it?”  I mean, they don’t know about the office gossip or the mundane cubicles that live within those walls… all they see are those impressive arches.  And so for just a moment, so did I.
